Lead Engineer
About the role
Aignosis is looking for a Lead Engineer to own the architecture and delivery of our Healthcare Ecosystem Platform software and Computer Vision AI systems, powering early autism and neurodevelopmental screening for pediatricians, clinics, hospitals, and diagnostic centers. You will lead a team of engineers while remaining hands-on with high-level and low-level system design.
What you'll do
Own end-to-end architecture (HLD and LLD) for the Healthcare Ecosystem Platform and its Computer Vision AI components
Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend, frontend, and ML engineers
Drive hands-on development of computer vision and AI/ML models for screening workflows
Ensure platform scalability, security, and compliance for a healthcare and regulated domain
Architect and manage cloud infrastructure (GCP) for reliability and performance
Collaborate with clinical, product, and design teams to translate healthcare requirements into technical solutions
Set and enforce engineering best practices, code quality standards, and review processes
Own technical decision-making and represent engineering in cross-functional planning
What we're looking for
6+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated architecture ownership and team leadership
Hands-on experience with computer vision or applied AI/ML
Strong system design (HLD/LLD) skills
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP)
Nice to have
Experience building products in healthcare or another regulated domain
Exposure to Agentic AI or LLM-based systems
Prior experience scaling an engineering team at a startup
